Short bio
Günter Schamel is an agricultural/applied economist researching on wine, tourism and cooperatives. His PhD is from the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University and his MSc from UC Davis. Before joining unibz, he was professor at Humboldt University Berlin with visiting appointments at Iowa State and Adelaide Uni. He has taught at Cornell, TU Munich, BSB Dijon and worked at the World Bank. He is a Board Member and Fellow of the American Association of Wine Economist (AAWE) and affiliated with the Robert Mondavi Institute Center for Wine Economics in Davis and the Wine Economics Research Centre in Adelaide. He is a Board Member for the Journal of Wine Economics (JWE) and Vice President of the European Association of Wine Economists (EuAWE).
