Short bio
Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Omar Hmouda is a Research Fellow within the Management Engineering Group at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. He holds a PhD in Sustainable Energy and Technologies.
His doctoral research focused on Sustainable Supply Chain Management in energy production, examining how external factors influence sustainability practices and performance outcomes. His research has been published in two leading journals: Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews and the Journal of Cleaner Production, with the final part expected to be published soon.
Currently, Dr. Hmouda is investigating the impact of Industry 4.0 technologies on the sustainability performance of Italian manufacturing firms. This research, part of a collaborative project with the University of Catania, Palermo, and Udine, aims to determine how these technologies affect different levels: process/plant, supply chain, and ecosystem, leading to various sustainability outcomes.
