Studying without barriers

Students with Disabilities

Support before you start university

During the language and admission tests, you will be able to benefit from compensatory and/or exemptive measures: e.g., you will be given extra time for tests and you will be allowed to use extra IT tools.

Please inform us about your needs and send in your disability certificate to our Student Support at least one month before the date of your tests and by the application deadline. You will be able to discuss with our staff at the Student Support office which supporting tools you need and the compensatory or exemptive measures that are most suitable to your needs.

Support while you study

Please contact our Student Support office to discuss compensatory and exemptive measures to take your exams and classes during your degree course.

Tuition fees

If you have a certified disability rating of 66% or higher, you are entirely exempt from the payment of tuition fees. In this case, you need to hand in to our Student Secretariat the disability certificate issued by a local healthcare authority when you submit your documents for registration.

The Right to Education Department of the Bozen-Bolzano Province provides for some special allowances for students with disabilities, among which: funding of domestic care services, refund of travel expenses and mobility support. Depending on your family income, you will be able to request a refund of your expenses.

Students with learning disabilities

If you have been diagnosed with dyslexia and you hand in your certificate (law n.170/2010), you will be able to benefit from compensatory and exemptive measures applicable to your study programme, such as extra time for tests and permission to use special IT tools.

Support before you start university

Please hand in your dyslexia certificate to our Student Support in person or via fax. This certificate must be dated no longer than three years ago and must be issued by an official government healthcare unit. It has to be submitted at least one month before your language or admission tests. If you follow these instructions, we can guarantee that you will receive the support you need to take your exams.

Support while you study

Please contact our Student Support office to discuss and obtain compensatory and exemptive measures to take your exams and attend classes during your degree course.
