The main objective of the Centre is to conduct research in the fields of social work, social pedagogy and social policy thematic priorities which are of great relevance in South Tyrol. Due to the strategic position of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, the topics are treated with special attention to the developments in the German-speaking countries and in the other parts of Italy, with a methodological emphasis on participative research.
