The research activities of the Centre are developed around some main themes:

• Interdisciplinary conceptualization of school inclusion
• Analysis of the impact of the quality of diagnosis and pedagogical planning (Individual Educational Plan) on the quality of teaching processes in South Tyrol schools and kindergardens, with a focus on collaboration in multi-professional teams
• Analysis of data describing in South Tyrol collected by the inspectors for inclusion of the three school local authorities.

Other activities of the Competence Centre are:

• Scientific development of initial and in-service teacher training courses in the field of inclusion
• Networking with other research institutes in the field of inclusion
• Reception of groups and delegations interested in inclusion in Italy/South Tyrol
• Scientific development of a regulation for students with disabilities and specific learning disorders
