Short bio

I am an earaly modern art historian specializing in printed illustrations and sixteenth-century art theory. My current research focuses on the new digital methodologies for promoting cultural heritage. I am currently working as Assistant Professor (RTD, since October 2022) at the Free University of Bozen. From 2019 til 2022, I have been Research Grant Holder at the Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities (DSU, Ca' Foscari University), and Visiting Fellow at St. Benet's Hall, University of Oxford. I obtained my PhD in Art History at the Freie Universitaet in Berlin, working as predoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, in the research project 'Art and Knowledge in Pre-Modern Europe, 1300-1650' (2011-2015). From 2016 until 2019 I worked as chargée de mission (postdoc) for Biblissima (CNRS/CESR) on the project ‘Le livre Illustré à Lyon, 1480-1600’, in cooperation with the University of Oxford, the ENSSIB, the Bibliothèque Municipale in Lyon, the CESR and the Warburg Institute in London. I held fellowships from different prestigious institutions, among which the Herzog  August Bibiliothek in Wolfenbuettel,  the Frances Yates Fellowship at the Warburg Institute and the Max Planck Gesellschaft. I am currently working on my second book 'Indexing the Early Modern Printed Page' on illustrated books printed in Lyon. I am the founder of the database 'Lyon16ci' and co-founder of the database '1516' for the cataloging and digitizing illustrated editions printed in Lyon, in cooperation with the Visual Geometry Group at the Department of Engineering Science of the University of Oxford. I am associate editor of magazén, the Journal for Digital and  Public Humanities.
