Short bio

Mehrgan Malekpour is a PhD student in Management (specializing in Marketing) at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy. With a strong background in food retail marketing, she is writing her PhD dissertation on the impact of digital transformation in the food and grocery retail industry. Mehrgan is conducting her research under the supervision of Prof. Oswin Maurer and Prof. Thomas Aichner.

She received her BA in Business Administration from the University of Mazandaran and later obtained her MSc in Business Administration with a specialization in International Marketing from Alghadir Institute of Higher Education, Tabriz. Before joining the PhD program, Mehrgan accumulated 12 years of professional experience in various sales and marketing roles within the food industry in Iran. Drawing from her industry expertise, she aims to bridge the gap between academic research and practical applications in retail marketing, integrating theoretical insights with real-world business challenges.

 

Main Research Areas

Mehrgan’s research focuses on retail digitalization, retail marketing, and the role of emerging technologies, such as the metaverse, in shaping consumer experiences and business strategies.
