Mousaab Alrhmoun

Short bio

I am a researcher with broad expertise in Agricultural Engineering and Environmental Science (Water, Soil, and Plant). My recent work focuses on Agroecology, sustainable agricultural practices, and livestock research, with advanced methodologies in data analysis, microscopic techniques, and multiple patents related to agricultural system processes.

I hold a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Limoges, France, graduating with the highest honors. Additionally, I earned two master’s degrees in Microbiology and Environmental Science from the same university and a bachelor’s degree in Rural Engineering from the University of Aleppo, Syria. My academic and professional journey spans France, the USA, and Italy.

Beyond research, I have extensive teaching experience, serving as a lecturer and trainer at institutions such as the Superior Agricultural School in France. I have also delivered advanced courses in wastewater treatment, agricultural chemistry, and programming applications for industrial and agricultural sectors.

I have worked for three years on livestock and animal data, contributing to projects such as CODA and WAST (Welfare Assessment of Dairy Cattle in South Tyrol). Additionally, I have participated in European projects such as "No PILLS in Water!" and "PILLS in Water", focusing on the removal of pharmaceutical compounds from wastewater and water systems. I have also worked on the ETHCSTWIN project, linking computer science with ethnobotany for advancing scientific excellence in ethnopharmacological studies. My work has been widely recognized, with 30+ publications in high-impact journals such as Nature, Scientific Reports, The Chemical Engineering Journal, Foods, Land, and PLOS ONE.

Additionally, I have presented my findings at international conferences and am proficient in English, French, Italian, and Arabic. My ongoing research continues to advance Agroecology, sustainability, livestock systems, ecosystem pollution control, and agricultural system development.

Main Research Areas

  • Agroecology & Sustainable Agricultural Practices by Focusing on ecological principles in farming, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable food production systems.
  • Data Analysis and Optimization of Agricultural Systems: Using statistical and computational methods to enhance productivity, sustainability, and decision-making in agriculture.
  • Applied Botany and Ethnobotany: Studying plant biology with an emphasis on ecological adaptation, traditional knowledge, and practical applications. Investigating historical and cultural relationships between people and plants, particularly in food, medicine, and ecological practices.
