A significant focus of this conference is to elucidate the new EU funding mechanisms introduced under the Next Generation EU initiative. A second theme is that of the reform of governance and public administrations, a cross-cutting concern integral to all NRRP missions, often referred to as the "horizontal reform”, designed to enhance the equity, efficiency, and competitiveness of the Italian legal and administrative framework. The success of the NRRP is intrinsically linked to effective public administration management, drawing on best practices from cohesion policy and EU project management. A specific focus will be on local experiences.
This conference aspires to be a fertile ground for scholarly discourse and idea generation. It profits from the collaboration with Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence REBUILD established at Dublin City University (DCU) led by prof. Federico Fabbrini. It aims to foster a productive dialogue between the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (unibz), DCU and local administrative bodies. We anticipate that this exchange will yield valuable insights and contribute to the advancement of public administration reforms in Italy.
