This seminar series introduces the fundamental concepts and tools of Network Science, focusing on analyzing and understanding complex systems through graph-based models with practical applications in various fields such as sociology, power grids, and machine learning.
In this second seminar, you will familiarize with centrality metrics, another important aspect to identify the key elements within your network. You will learn:
- What centrality metrics are;
- Why they are of interest;
- Some of the most popular centrality metrics: Degree, Betweenness, Closeness;
The seminar is composed of the following:
- The lecture (approximately 45 minutes);
- Q&A;
Optional Hands-on lab. A Jupiter Notebook will be provided with some exercise to get familiar with the Python network analysis library (NetworkX)
