Are you a PhD student passionate about fluid mechanics and turbulence? This year, we’re bringing you an exciting opportunity: the Experimental Camp 2025.
This is not a traditional course—it’s an immersive experience where you’ll apply theoretical concepts in a real laboratory setting, working in teams to tackle fluid dynamics measurement challenges. You’ll have the chance to operate cutting-edge experimental models under the guidance of expert instructors.
Course Structure:
Hands-on experiments, working on three advanced test setups using state-of-the-art optical, non-intrusive measurement techniques:
- Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA)
- Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV)
- Particle Tracking Velocimetry (PTV)
At the end of the week, you’ll present and discuss your findings! Instructors will support and guide you throughout the process, while allowing full freedom to explore different approaches
How it works:
Teamwork: You’ll collaborate in small groups (4-6 students) to:
- Design experiments
- Install & align measurement instruments
- Perform fluid dynamics tests
- Analyze data & prepare a final report
Why Join?
- Gain hands-on experience with advanced experimental fluid dynamics techniques
- Work in a dynamic and collaborative environment
- Boost your practical skills and expand your research expertise
If you're ready to dive into the world of experimental fluid mechanics, this is the perfect opportunity!
