The yearly conference, By Design and By Disaster, brings together people and organisations from diverse fields such as design, art, sciences, activism, rural and urban development, etc. since 2013. In 2024 the conference returns to BASIS Vinschgau Venosta from the 10^th  to the 14^th of July (featuring an optional joint program with Klimacamp Alto Adige on the 13^th and 14^th of July 2024 in Vöran-Verano). A mix of talks, workshops, paper presentations, good food, drinks, music and dance, connection and exchange will open up the topic of "Power in Transformation". In the conference we will explore how power is shaping our societies and ecosystems, and how we can wield it to change the status quo. We will question established norms, amplify marginalized voices, and clarify how design and art can contribute in moving towards solidary and just power relations among humans and with the more-than-human world.
