The first is a contemporary opera by Albanian composer Admir Shkurtaj and the second is a piece of musical theatre by Senegalese griot, musician and vocalist Badara Seck.

Since the theme of “music and migration” has emerged as a common interest among students and faculty members of the Unibz community, the students at the Master in Musicology are proposing a Seminar Series titled “Music and Transnational Mobility”. In collaboration with the association Kinosof(i)a, the series will start with the screening of two pieces related to issues of migration in Italy. The first is a contemporary opera by Albanian composer Admir Shkurtaj, premiered at the Venice Biennale in 2014, and the second is a piece of musical theatre (also premiered in 2014) by Senegalese griot, musician and vocalist Badara Seck. The discussion that will follow the screening will be moderated by Giovanni Chiriacò, professor of ethnomusicology. Event reserved for Unibz members!
