Detailed information for Erasmus students of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (outgoing)
Thanks to the Erasmus programme you will be able to spend a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months studying at one of our partner universities with whom we have signed a bilateral cooperation and exchange agreement. You need to pass a selection process in order to take part in the programme. The guidelines for this selection process are published in January of each year for the following academic year. The guidelines indicate the details of the selection process, which vary from faculty to faculty, but which are primarily based on academic merit, your knowledge of the language of the host university and on your motivation. In order to take part in the selection process you need to hand in the application form by the deadline indicated, normally around the middle of March of each year. The selection itself takes place during the months of March and April. Once you have passed the selection process, you obtain the status of an Erasmus student, with the following advantages: exemption from university fees at the host university, access to all the services and facilities of the host university under the same conditions as for the local students, a financial grant, and recognition of your studies pursued abroad. With Erasmus status you will receive from the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano a grant of  130 Euros per month for the duration of your stay abroad.  Furthermore, depending on the reults of the selection process, the better-ranking students receive a further grant of 230 Euros per month from the European Union. Before leaving, agree with your faculty on a study plan to follow at the foreign university which will be recognised as equivalent by the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano on your return: this document is called the ‘Learning Agreement’.
