Multilingual teaching and learning at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano

The aim of the project is to enhance the usage of English, German and Italian within the courses offered at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, by establishing and reinforcing linguistic and communicative habits which will make multilingual teaching and learning at the FUB more viable and effective. Particular focus is given to the development of a language vademecum for subject professors, language lecturers and students and to the establishment of a solid link between language teaching offered by the Language Centre, and content teaching in English, German and Italian carried out by the faculties and schools at the FUB.

Furthermore, concrete measures to enhance language learning and language usage by students will be developed and implemented, so as to contribute to a linguistic-communicative model which is functional and appropriate for the multilingual orientation of the FUB.
 
A "language workgroup", consisting of representatives from the faculties, the student body, the Language Centre and the Centre for Language Studies, has been established within the project.

Piano d’intervento linguistico per la Libera Università di BolzanoObiettivo del progetto è l’ottimizzazione dell’uso delle lingue italiana, tedesca ed inglese nell’ambito della didattica curricolare della Libera Università di Bolzano, con l’individuazione e la diffusione di pratiche linguistiche e comunicative che rendano più agevoli l’insegnamento e l’apprendimento plurilingue all’interno dell’università. Accanto alla predisposizione di vademecum linguistici per i docenti di materia, per i lettori e per gli studenti, il progetto mira a stabilire un raccordo ottimale tra la didattica delle lingue, offerta dal Centro Linguistico, e la didattica in lingua; saranno inoltre elaborate proposte concrete per la realizzazione di interventi ed iniziative a sostegno dell’apprendimento e dell’acquisizione da parte degli studenti, la cui implementazione e verifica possa portare, a conclusione del progetto, ad un modello linguistico-comunicativo adatto alle esigenze della didattica plurilingue dell’ateneo.
 
Il progetto è curato dal Centro di Competenza Lingue; nell’ambito del progetto è costituito un "gruppo di lavoro lingue" composto da membri del Centro Linguistico, da rappresentanti delle singole facoltà e degli studenti e da membri del Centro di Ricerca.


Sprachenkonzept für die Freie Universität Bozen

Ziel des Projektes ist die Optimierung der Sprachverwendung des Deutschen, Italienischen und Englischen im Bereich der Fachdidaktik der Freien Universität Bozen durch die Bestimmung und die Verbreitung von Sprach- und Kommunikationsverhaltensweisen, welche das plurilinguale Lehren und Lernen leichter und praktikabler machen.

Das Projekt setzt sich zum Ziel, ein Sprachvademekum für Fachlehrende, Sprachlektoren und Studenten zu erstellen. Damit soll ein optimales Zusammenspiel zwischen Sprachdidaktik, wie sie vom Sprachzentrum angeboten wird und dem fachspezifischen Unterricht, wie er jeweils in deutscher, italienischer und englischer Sprache als Zweit- bzw. Fremdsprache in den Fakultäten erfolgt, hergestellt werden. Darüber hinaus sollen konkrete Vorschläge für den Einsatz von Maßnahmen und Aktionen ausgearbeitet werden, die Studenten beim Sprachenlernen und beim Erwerb unterstützen. Vorhaben des gesamten Projektes ist es, ein sprachliches und kommunikatives Konzept zu erarbeiten, das den Bedürfnissen der mehrsprachigen Lehre der Freien Universität Bozen Rechnung trägt.
 
Das Projekt wird vom Kompetenzzentrum Sprachen betreut; dazu wird eine „Arbeitsgruppe Sprachen" eingesetzt, die aus Mitgliedern des Sprachenzentrums, aus Vertretern des Lehrkörpers jeder Fakultät, aus Studentenvertretern und aus Mitgliedern des Forschungszentrums besteht.
