Name: Manuel Piubelli
Student representative of which board: Faculty Council
Degree program: Bachelor in Applied Computer Science
In which year are you studying: 2nd
Why have you decided to stand as a candidate?
My run for the position of student's representative is motivated by many points. The major one is to enforce the voice of the students in the faculty council, to improve the interaction and dialog between the faculty and its students. Thus, as bachelor student, I can easily interact with a big part of students, as having direct contact during courses.
How would you assess the current state of the university?
I see our university as a well – organized institution which provides an overall good service for students. In my opinion our faculty and administration is missing out on some feedback from student's side.
Which are the most important goals that you want to achieve?
There are some issues like to achieve and maintain the balanced distribution of workload over the academic year, within each week and among different courses. Thus the exam session should be as equated as possible. Thus, a facility to be provided for each computer science student should be remote VPN access to the university network by default. The major concern, as already mentioned, is to keep a steady dialog between faculty and students.
