What does studying in several languages actually mean?
Our University is one of very few in Italy and in Europe where classes and university life in general take place in three languages (English, German and Italian) on a daily basis.*

As an example, on a typical day an economics student might go to the “Introduction to General Management” lecture in English, and then immediately go to “Diritto privato”, which is taught in Italian. After lunch s/he might then meet a tutor to discuss his/her Erasmus stay abroad next semester.
This meeting will take place in German, as the tutor’s first language is German.
That evening, the student will go along to the debating club with various friends where they will debate the causes and effects of climate change (in English).

This typical day in the life of a FUB student shows us that switching from one language to another is quite a common occurrence!

*except the Master in Computer Science and the Master in Fruit Science, as all teaching for these masters takes place in English.
