Step 1: Application procedure, Accommodation & Study Visa
If you want to apply as a Free Mover Student, you should send to the International Relations Office:
  • Motivation letter
  • Official transcript of university records
  • Enrolment certificate from your home university
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Portfolio (for admission to the Faculty of Design and Art)

Deadline for submitting applications to the International Relations Office:
  • by May 10th for the first semester or the whole academic year
  • by October 10th for the second semester

Once the Faculty admits you as a Free Mover student, we will send you a link for the online pre-enrolment application. You have to fill out the application form online, print it and send it to the International Relations Office:
  • by 30th June for the first semester or the whole academic year
  • by 30th November for the second semester.

Accommodation
Unfortunately, we do not provide housing nor make housing arrangements for Free Mover Students. You can have a look at the accommodation offers on our homepage  or send us an advert and we will post it on the university’s notice board, so you can get in touch with other students looking for room-mates. You can also check the local newspapers containing accommodation ads. The rent usually varies from € 250 to € 500 per month for a room.   If you are a non-EU citizen, you need to have accommodation in order to obtain the student visa to enter Italy.

Study Visa for non-EU citizens
Non-EU citizens intending to study in Italy must obtain an Italian student visa before entering Italy. Therefore, you have to apply to the Italian diplomatic authority and ask for a study visa. The International Relations Office will issue and send an invitation letter to the Italian Embassy/Consulate nearest you. The Italian Embassy/Consulate is the authority responsible for accepting your pre-enrolment and checking if you meet the requirements for the visa.   The study visa will be issued only on demonstration that you:

  • have suitable accommodation in Italy
  • have enough financial means to support yourself
  • are entitled to medical care in Italy
