Pre-enrolmentPre-enrolment is an administrative procedure which enables you to apply for one or more courses at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano.
The online pre-enrolment procedure is activated according to the deadlines established annually. If you do not have access to a computer, there are computers available for pre-enrolment at the headquarters of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. The form, which you have to complete online, has to be printed out, signed and delivered or posted to the Student Secretariat in charge by the deadline indicated in the course's Study manifesto. The documents that you will have to enclose with the application are listed in the course’s Study Manifesto or in the notes accompanying the online presentation of the course you have chosen.
Applying for pre-enrolment is free and not binding.

Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is the pre-enrolment?
It is the aspiring student’s application for the admission to one or more courses at a university in Italy. The Free University of Bozen/Bolzano requires it to be done through an online procedure available from this page. Pre-enrolment is usually required for courses with a limited number of admissible students and a selection procedure. If you do not pre-enrol by the deadline, you will not be admitted to the selection.

Where can I find detailed descriptions of the courses?
The courses are described in detail in the "Study Manifestos". The manifesto contains all the information about study plans, admission requirements, pre-enrolment, enrolment and the taxes and fees to be paid. The updated version for the following academic year is usually online by February/May.

Who can I talk to about what course would be best for me?
The University’s Advisory Service can provide useful information about courses.
Contact details are available on the right of this page.

How can I pre-enrol for a course?
Pre-enrolment is done online through this website following the link activated at pre-enrolment time. Once you have enrolled online, the form must be printed, dated and signed and then sent to the relevant Student Secretariat in Bolzano or Bressanone with all the necessary documents attached. If this is sent by post, it must arrive at the Student secretariat by the pre-enrolment deadline. The postmarked date will not be taken into consideration!

I’m a non-EU citizen: how do I go about pre-enrolling?
If you are resident abroad, you must do your pre-enrolment through the Italian embassy or consular authorities in your home country. If you are applying for bachelor, you will have to pass a compulsory Italian-language test at the Language Centre. If you already have a valid residence permit for Italy, you can apply directly to the Free University of Bolzano as described above. Further information.

Can I pre-enrol for several courses and only decide later which one I want to enrol for?
Yes, you can pre-enrol for more than one course, and you can pre-enrol for courses at other universities and then decide which one to enrol for once you have passed any admission tests that need doing. Be careful! You can’t pre-enrol for different sections of the same course (e.g. degree course for Primary School teachers Italian AND German section). At the School of Economics and Management you can pre-enrol for a maximum of two courses.

What documents do I have to attach to my pre-enrolment application?
A copy of your national ID card must always be attached. The other documents depend on the course you are applying for. All this information is to be found in the relevant Study manifestos.

What does “pre-enrolment via a dossier” mean?
In order to enroll at the School of Economics and Management as well as at the Faculty of Computer Science, you need to hand in a collection of documents, containing the report cards of your third- and second-last year of high-school and a personal statement. The pre-enrolment at these two faculties can be completed in two periods called sessions: The first opportunity is at the beginning of the year and the second opening of the pre-enrolment is during the summer months. The dossiers will then be evaluated by a commission, which then completes the official ranking of accepted candidates. Only those candidates accepted can then enroll in their course.

Do I have to pay to pre-enrol?
No, pre-enrolment is completely free.
