Master's Degree in Primary Education
The 5-year Master Degree in Primary Education is being approved by the Ministry. Further information are available here.



Bachelors in Social Work and for Social Education

In order to be selected for a place on this degree course, as well as the language proficiency require and the formal aspects detailed above, you have to pass the selection procedure.
This selection procedure evaluates the following:
  • your paper of no more than 1000 words which details: a) why you want to enrol for the degree; b) the skills and knowledge you have that will be relevant for studying this subject c) your expectations
  • the results of the written and/or oral admission tests, taking place on 19, 20 and 21 July 2011 in Brixen/Bressanone.
  • the final marks you achieved in your secondary school exams
  • any experience you may have had working in the field of social work.

If you already have your secondary school qualification when you pre-enrol, you must indicate the mark(s) you received by the pre-enrolment deadline.
This can be done on the pre-enrolment form or in a separate declaration.
If you only receive your secondary school qualifications after pre-enrolment, you must provide the mark(s) obtained when you come to sit the admission test. A copy of your certificate or a separate declaration is sufficient.If you do not indicate your mark(s), only the lowest pass mark will be taken into consideration.
If you have qualifications from abroad, the mark conversion will take place following the declaration of value that is issued by the Italian authorities in your own country. If this mark conversion is not on the declaration of value, the University reserves the right to do its own conversion using its own guidelines.
If the mark is not shown, only the lowest pass mark will be taken into consideration.



Master in Innovation and Research for Social Work and Social Education
The selection procedure consists in the evaluation of the following:
  • a paper of 1500 words regarding: a) why the candidate wants to follow the Master; b) the skills and experience the candidate has that are relevant to the degree; c) the candidate’s expectations regarding the Master.
  • an interview;
  • the final grade awarded for the candidate’s undergraduate degree;
  • work experience gained working in the social or educational fields;
Admission to the Master’s degree is dependent on the candidate passing the admission exam, which takes the form of an interview.
The interview aims to develop the themes presented in the paper presented previously and to explore the motivation and the skills of the candidate.
Candidates can choose the language in which they wish to take this exam; either English, Italian or German.
The interview will take place on 22 July 2011 at the Brixen/Bressanone premises. Further, more detailed information about this interview will be available on the official notice board of the Faculty of Education in Brixen/Bressanone.

Admission rank list
There are 100 points available and the exam commission will distribute them as follows:
  • a maximum of 70 points for the admission exam (interview) and the paper written prior to the interview;
  • a maximum of 10 points for the grade obtained for the undergraduate degree;
  • a maximum of 20 points for the work experience undertaken by the candidate in social work or in the educational field.
If there is no indication as to the final mark for the degree and this is not presented before the pre-enrolment deadline, the minimum pass mark will be assigned.
If the degree was awarded abroad, the conversion of the mark will be based on the declaration of equivalent value that is issued by the Italian authorities in the candidate’s home country.
If this conversion does not appear on the declaration of equivalent value, the University reserves the right to use its own criteria in establishing the conversion.
If the mark does not appear, the minimum pass mark will be assigned. Any candidate who does not hold the required academic qualification at the time of pre-enrolment will not receive any points for the undergraduate degree.
