Spaces & Facilities The modern feel of the Library, with computer rooms, carrels (small study rooms) and seminar rooms, offers ideal study conditions. Students working on their theses and academic staff can request 24-hour access to the Library so that they have ease and convenience of access. Requests for this special access can be made via email to the following address

Facilities
The libraries in Bolzano and Bressanone have a large number of computers, printers, photocopiers, scanners and colour printers that can be used by Library users. Students and university staff are also able to use the University’s wi-fi network and can ask for the latest anti-virus software updates at the Loans Desk in the Library.
External users of the Library who have a Library Card can use and book special computers for their research on the
internet.
Instructions
Alternatively external users can access the internet at no extra cost via the
WLAN openAiR. External users can obtain a scratch card with the login details from the Information desk inside the Library in Bozen/Bolzano and Brixen/Bressanone and as from Tuesday at the university premises in Bruneck/Brunico. The openAIR scratch card is valid as long as the Library Card is valid. Access is regulated by the
Regulations for the use of the Scientific Network, which users must accept at the time of signing up. Further information about openAIR is available clicking on the following

Carrels
The carrels are small study rooms that the Library rents out to students on a monthly basis. They are rooms inside the Library containing tables, chairs and shelves where students can connect their laptops to the mains electricity and Internet. As well as the carrel, the student has access to a cupboard where s/he can deposit articles of value for the rental period. The carrels can be booked at the Loans Desk during the normal Library opening hours and the key can be retrieved at the beginning of the month.
Renting carrels is one of the few services offered by the Library that is subject to a fee. But it’s the cheapest way to rent a room in the city centre for a month.
