Speakers
Rene Schneider
Rene Schneider has been a professor at the department of information science and documentation at the
Geneva University of Applied Sciences
since 2006. He is the coordinator of the bilingual degree program of
information and documentation
and is currently managing
several research projects
which are aimed at developing useful and usable Digital Library applications.
Robert Strötgen
Robert Strötgen has worked at the
Georg Eckert Institute
as an Information Scientist since June of 2008 on the interface between Scholarship, Library and Transfer and directs the
Communication and Transfer Department
. As a project manager he coordinated from 2007 - 2008 the Goportis Project where he worked on, among other things, the creation of an internet portal for scholarly full text accommodation.
Rossana Morriello
Rossana Morriello has been a librarian at the
University of Venice Ca' Foscari
since 2002. From 1997 to 2002 she has been an assistant librarian at
Turin Polythecnic
, at the Central library of architeture. She is author of many articles published in Italian and international professional journals and papers in conference proceedings, and she teaches in courses for professional education and training.
Kerstin Zimmermann
Kerstin Zimmermann is a theoretical physicists and was a researcher for information management (1998-2005) at the
Institute for Science Networking at Oldenburg University
,
Research Center for Telecommunications Vienna
and DERI Innsbruck. She was also a guest lecturer at the
Polytechnic of Namibia
in Windhoek. Since 2005 she is working as a scientific policy officer at the Austrian Ministry.
Ágnes Hajdu Barát
Ágnes Hajdu Barát is professor at the
University of Szeged Gyula Juhász Faculty of Education
(SZTE JGYPK). She worked as an information consultant for a number of organization and research projects. Her research interests are epistemological issues of knowledge organization, visualization of information, interdisciplinarity and multilingual information retrieval. Prof. Hajdu Barát is the vice president of Hungarian Library Association; an associate editor of the UDC (Universal Decimal Classification) and member of the Scientific Advisory Council of International Society for Knowledge Organization.
Klaus Kempf
Since 2000 Klaus Kempf has been the head of the department for collection development and cataloguing as well as of the Digital library division at the Bavarian State University. He is an expert and consultant in library management affairs, in particular reorganisation and reengineering, personnel management, library building and took part in several consulting projects on regional, national and international level. Furthermore he is the author of numerous publications in professional journals about various library management topics.
Günter Mühlberger
Dr. Günter Mühlberger is head of the Department for Digitization and Digital Preservation at the
University and Regional Library of Tyrol
. He coordinated and took part in several national and international research and development projects, among them the "Digitisation-on-Demand" project (EU Project, eTEN) which was the basis for the
eBooks-on-Demand Network
. Currently nearly 30 libraries from all over Europe are taking part in this service which offers not only digitized versions of public domain books but also reprints.
Vittore Casarosa
Vittore Casarosa is a research associate at the Institute for Information Science and Technologies of the Italian
National Research Council in Pisa, Italy (ISTI-CNR)
. For a number of years he has been involved in the management and the research activities of the
DELOS Network of Excellence on Digital Libraries
. Presently he is involved in educational activities (university teaching and training courses) in the fields of Digital Libraries and preservation of digital objects.
