Admission - BSc in Computer Science and Engineering
Selection Procedure and Admission Rank List
Selection procedure
In addition to language certification and admission requirements, you must go through a selection procedure in order to access the course.
The selection procedure consists in the evaluation of a "Dossier" by a Selection Committee; for detials on the "Dossier" see previous point Pre-Enrolment.
The criteria for the evaluation of the dossier are:
- up to 9 points for the curriculum;
- up to 1 point for the personal statement letter.
The minimum requisite for admission is reaching 4 points; in cases of equal points the preference will be given to the older student.
Admission Ranklist
The results of this selection procedure are published as rank lists: one for EU citizens (and citizens of other countries who enjoy parity of treatment) and one for non-EU citizens resident abroad.
The ranklists are published on the website of the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano (www.unibz.it) and are only valid for the academic year for which they have been drawn up.
Publication:
- for the first pre-enrolment session by 20 April 2012.
- for the second pre-enrolment session by 10 September 2012.
In the event that someone on the ranklist does not enrol by the deadline, the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano will then accept enrolments from candidates further down the list.
First pre-enrolment session: how to guarantee your study place
If you have been admitted through the rank lists, you will have to
pay the first instalment of university fees (€ 575) and deliver the receipt to the Student Secretariat by 18 May 2012. (Please note that payment will only be accepted once the receipt has been presented personally or via e-mail - it is not enough just to make the payment).
Once this receipt has been received, you are guaranteed a place on the course. If you do not deliver the receipt to the Student Secretariat by the deadline, you will automatically lose your place and there will be a period where candidates of the 1st session on the waiting list will be able to enrol. If not all study places of the first session are occupied, the free places will be assigned in the 2nd session.
Please note that payment does not allow you to receive student status, which will be acquired upon enrolment in August/September. If you have a guaranteed study place but you do not enrol, there will be no refund of the university fees unless you do not pass your secondary school final exam or, in the event of non-EU candidates resident abroad, you do not receive the necessary documents from the Italian authorities in your country.
The
instructions for the payment can be found
here.
