
The major in
Business Studies is aimed at training professionals, experts and economists whose multilingual academic training will allow them to carry out the work of a professional accountant or company consultant, as well as the managerial and entrepreneurial duties required in the private and public sector both here in Italy and abroad.
The course will last three years and is divided into 30 semester courses that correspond to 150 credit points. Each semester course is worth 5 credit points. There are also a further 30 credits that will be divided thus:
- 15 credits for courses to be attended by the student which may be chosen not only from among the courses offered by this Faculty, but also those of other Faculties and even those of other Universities;
- 10 credits for the final assignment;
- 10 credits for periods of training or for other optional courses;
- 5 credits for further knowledge in computer sciences (advanced level).
The students are guided along their educational career by tutors whose background is both academic and from the world of work. The course concludes with the preparation and discussion of a final assignment, the subject of which must be established during the third year of the course.Attendance at lectures for the major is not compulsory, but is necessary in order to be successful in the examinations that are set. Students are required to participate actively in the lessons and to take the final examinations set for every course, if possible immediately after the conclusion of the lessons.The academic year is divided into two semesters. The subjects for each semester generally last 30 hours.
Career opportunities
The main aim of the major in “Business Studies” is to provide students with a solid theoretical basis, so that they can find a job as an accountant, administrative consultant or company economist. The undergraduate degree also provides a basis for students to work as freelance accountants, management consultants or to undertake research in economics or management studies.
