EUROBS (Observatory of the Euregio) is a joined research initiative of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, the University of Innsbruck and the University of Trento which is financially supported with generous grants from the Banca di Trento e Bolzano and Intesa SanPaolo. Its main objective is the analysis of economic and cultural interrelations of the regions forming the Euregio: Province of Trento, Province of Bozen-Bolzano, Land Tirol.  

Activities and objectives of EUROBS:
The research initiative looks into the causes of regional development and prosperity and makes research results applicable to a wider community and regional policymakers. Particular areas of interest are the role of demographic change for the functioning of the regional labor markets, regional differences in firm performance, and networks and intangible capital as factors of regional development. Whereas the main focus of the research is placed on the three territories of the Euregio, the analysis aims to investigate the economic and cultural development of the region from an international perspective.

Organisation of EUROBS:
Research offices of EUROBS are established with each University of the Euregio. The researchers representing these offices are responsible for establishing strategic objectives and operational measures in order to perform relevant analyses. The operation of the institute is coordinated by a director and supervised by a board. The latter consists of five members and is responsible for authorizing the actions of the research group based on annual work plans.
